The 2023 Indiana high school girls golf season begins Monday.
Sectionals are scheduled for Sept. 15, 16 and 18, followed by regionals on Sept. 23. The two-round state meet begins Sept. 30 at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.
Here are some golfers to keep an eye on this fall. Of note: 2022 state champion Ava Bunker (Columbus North) is not playing high school golf.

Demi Bolin, Jr., Plainfield: Bolin won the Hendricks County tournament and placed second at the Mid-State Conference tourney. She was also a match medalist four times last season.
Samantha Brown, Sr., Westfield: A three-time all-state pick and two-time defending Indiana Junior PGA champion, the Purdue commit tied for sixth at state during the school season, then captured the Indiana Golf Association‘s state championship over the summer.
Brynlee DeBoard, Sr., Kankakee Valley: DeBoard qualified for state as an individual and tied for 16th at state. She carded a hole-in-one at the Indiana Girls State Junior Championship in July.
Paige Giovenco, Jr., Floyd Central: An ICGSA All-State pick, Giovenco won her sectional with a score of 65 and placed 15th at state. She tied for sixth at the Indiana Girls State Junior in West Lafayette.
Annabelle Hacker, Fr., Plainfield: A newcomer to watch, Hacker was the top golfer in her age group on the Indy Junior Golf Circuit.
Michaela Headlee, Sr., Carmel: The Purdue commit tied for 12th at state for the state champions. She was state runner-up in 2020.
Ashley Kirkland, Jr., Castle: A sectional champion and regional runner-up (lost via tiebreaker), Kirkland secured a second-place finish at state by firing a round-low 72 in the second round.
Addi Kooi, Jr., Westfield: Kooi made waves last season. She carded a 69 to win her sectional, then scored a second-round 75 to secure a fourth-place finish at state. She was an all-state pick.
Taylor Larkins, So., FW Carroll: Following a 16th-place finish at state (Carroll’s first appearance as a team since 1996), Larkins won the Masters Tour championship and secured the Masters Tour season points title.
Elizabeth Mercer, Sr., Western: Mercer tied for 16th at state (second at regional). She came in fifth at the Masters Tour championship and in the Masters Season points standings.
Sophie Mock, Jr., Carmel: An all-state honoree, Mock tied for 10th among individuals at state after scoring a 75 in the second round.
Lexi Ray, So., Franklin: The Johnson County Player of the Year as a freshman, Ray set the school record for scoring average (73.5) and finished sixth at state. She was an IHSGCA All-State pick and enters this season as a serious title contender.
Scarlett Senk, Sr., Homestead: Senk led the Spartans to a fourth-place finish at state. The ICGSA All-State pick scored a 74 in the second round to finish tied for sixth.
Ava South, So., Batesville: South placed third in her state tournament debut. She finished two strokes outside the top-5 in regionals (Batesville qualified as a team). She finished second at the Indiana Junior PGA Championship in June.
Claire Swathwood, Sr., Carmel: The Memphis commit captured medalist honors at regionals (68), then helped Carmel to the team championship at state with a sixth-place finish. She was an all-state pick.
Lynne Zhang, Sr., Culver Academies: Zhang scored a 68 at the Culver Academies Golf Course last fall, the lowest by a female golfer in the course’s 98-year history. She shot a 67 at regionals (first-place finish) and tied for 20th at state.
